Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk/Banking Reconciliations Clerk to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various accounting tasks, with a primary focus on banking reconciliations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately within a dynamic financial environment. The Accounts Clerk/Banking Reconciliations Clerk will also provide support to the Credit Controller during their absences and undertake ad hoc duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Banking Reconciliations: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of the company’s bank accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
  • General Accounting Tasks: Assist in various accounting functions, such as recording financial transactions, updating ledgers, and maintaining financial records.
  • Invoice Processing: Verify and process supplier invoices, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice issuance, payments, and collections.
  • Data Entry and Accuracy: Input financial data into the accounting system accurately and efficiently.
  • Financial Reporting Support: Provide necessary data and information for the preparation of financial reports.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake miscellaneous tasks as required, such as assisting other team members during peak periods or special projects.
  • Credit Controller Support: Provide backup support to the Credit Controller during their absence, ensuring continuity in credit control processes.
  • Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies and enhance financial data accuracy.
  • Compliance: Maintain adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and legal requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional education in accounting, finance, or related fields is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in accounting or banking reconciliations is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and meticulous attention to detail when handling financial data.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical Abilities: Proficient in problem-solving and analytical thinking to resolve discrepancies and errors effectively.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and external contacts.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset and willingness to assist colleagues when needed.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM 1-hour lunch break
